Sports Academy

The College’s Sports Academy gives students with a talent in sport the chance to pursue their sporting ambition while completing a full time sports qualification. We offer academy programmes in basketball, boxing and football.

As part of the programme, learners receive a minimum of 10 hours coaching per week. On top of this, we offer our student athletes a number of employability qualifications to not only help them progress as athletes, but to give them the chance to establish a career in the sports industry.

We currently run three academies: Basketball, Boxing and Football.

As a member of the Sports Academy, students work alongside professional coaches and strength and conditioning experts. Academy members are ambassadors for the College, competing in elite college leagues, cups and competitions. Academy students also take part in a number of specialised field trips, visits and tours around the world to aid their professional and personal development.

Sports Academy

Our Basketball Academy combines a sports education with professional training.

Students aged between 16-19 work with coaches who have years of experience in helping players maximise their potential. Players accepted into the Academy are expected to possess a complete set of fundamental basketball skills in addition to an excellent attitude and an eagerness to learn both on and off the basketball court.

Each player on the academy programme receives a personalised development plan and works closely on the specialised aspects of their game. Players also get the opportunity to take part in tours and gain exposure on the international basketball circuit in Europe and the USA. Trials information.

Sports Academy

With only one other established academy in London, this is a rare opportunity for students to nurture their boxing talent while gaining a recognised qualification.

Our partner organisation, Get Set Go Sport, is well established in the boxing world and provides experienced coaches who have competed across the world.

There will be opportunities for students to gain a number of additional qualifications such as judges and coaches awards to enhance their chances of progress in this field. Trials information

Sports Academy

Our Queens Park Rangers FC managed football academy offers elite level training from professional coaches while studying on one of the College’s full time sports programmes. Players aged between 16-19 train with QPR coaches as they would in a professional club at a range of top training facilities. The team participates in the competitive British Colleges Sport elite league once a week and trains 3 times a week.

The academy’s UEFA qualified coaching staff have links to many London football clubs and players develop their skills in the spotlight of the professional networking circuit. In recent years, some of our students have been employed as coaches at professional football clubs. To join our football academy you will need to purchase the full QPR training and playing kit which will cost approx £150. Trials information
